The Ultrasound Procedure Process
High-frequency sound waves capture live images of the inside of your body, with no radiation. Depending on the area, the centre may ask you to fast or to come with a full bladder. The centre's sonographer applies a clear gel so the probe glides smoothly; the scan itself does not hurt.

Ultrasound scan prices in Sharjah and Dubai
Ultrasound scans from AED 500 in Dubai (AED 350 in Sharjah). The price depends on the area scanned, for example a single area such as the abdomen, pelvis or thyroid, or the abdomen and pelvis together, and on the centre. These are the indicative prices MelioHealth quotes as of 13 September 2026, and we confirm the final price in AED on WhatsApp before you book. Before your ultrasound (sonography) scan
Preparation depends on the area. An abdominal scan is usually done after several hours without food, and the centre tells you whether you may drink water; a pelvic scan through the abdomen usually needs a full bladder, so you may be asked to drink water in the hour before and not to empty your bladder; thyroid, breast and most muscle and joint scans need no preparation. The centre confirms the exact steps when your booking is confirmed. If you take regular medicines, especially for diabetes, ask your doctor or the centre how to take them if you are asked not to eat before the scan.
Pregnancy scans
