How MelioHealth works
What is MelioHealth?
MelioHealth is a booking and referral service for medical imaging (such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, X-ray, PET-CT and DEXA) and laboratory tests in Sharjah and Dubai. We arrange your appointment at a licensed partner centre. We are not a clinic: we do not perform scans, read images or give medical advice.
Who do I pay?
You pay the imaging centre or laboratory directly.
How do I book?
Message us on WhatsApp at +971 50 112 8350 with the scan or test name, your emirate and whether you have a doctor's referral, or request a call back on our contact page. We confirm the centre, the price in AED and the appointment time before you commit.
Is MelioHealth an emergency service?
No. In an emergency, call 998 for an ambulance or go to the nearest emergency department. MelioHealth arranges planned outpatient appointments only.
Which emirates do you cover?
We book appointments at licensed partner centres in Sharjah and Dubai.
Prices and payment
How much does an MRI cost?
MRI scans from AED 1,000 in Dubai (AED 800 in Sharjah). The exact price depends on the body region and whether contrast is needed. These are the indicative prices MelioHealth quotes as of 13 September 2026, and we confirm the final price in AED on WhatsApp before you book.
How much do CT, ultrasound and X-ray scans cost?
CT scans from AED 1,000 in Dubai (AED 750 in Sharjah). Ultrasound scans from AED 500 in Dubai (AED 350 in Sharjah). X-rays from AED 130 per view in Dubai (AED 110 in Sharjah). These are indicative prices as of 13 September 2026, and we confirm the final price in AED before you book.
What do HSG, PET-CT, DEXA, OPG and Doppler scans cost?
Prices for these scans depend on the centre and the exact study. Message us on WhatsApp and we will send you the partner centre's current price before you book.
Is the price I am quoted final?
The price we confirm on WhatsApp is the centre's price for the scan or test described. If the radiologist recommends contrast or extra views on the day, the centre explains the change and the cost before going ahead.
Insurance and pre-approval
Do partner centres accept insurance?
Many partner centres accept major UAE insurers, and acceptance differs by centre and plan. Tell us your insurer when you book and we will match you with a centre that accepts it, or give you the self-pay price.
What is pre-approval and how long does it take?
For MRI, CT and PET-CT, most insurers require approval before the scan. The centre submits the request, and approval usually takes from a few hours to a few working days, depending on the insurer. We can tell you which documents the centre needs.
My basic plan does not cover the scan. What are my options?
Many basic plans limit or exclude advanced imaging. Check your policy schedule, ask your insurer to confirm the exclusion in writing, and message us for the self-pay price, which we confirm in AED before you book.
Can I claim back a scan I paid for myself?
Some plans reimburse scans you pay for yourself. Ask your insurer before booking, and ask the centre for an itemised invoice and the report to submit with your claim.
On the day and your report
Do I need a doctor's referral?
MRI, CT, PET-CT and HSG need a referral from a licensed doctor. Some X-rays and ultrasound scans, and most routine lab tests, can be booked without one; the centre will tell you if your test needs a referral.
How should I prepare?
It depends on the scan or test. Our guides cover preparation for MRI, CT, ultrasound and fasting blood tests, and the centre confirms its exact instructions when your booking is confirmed.
Can I ask for a female radiographer or sonographer?
Yes, you can ask. Tell us when you book and we will look for a partner centre that can arrange it on your preferred date.
When do I get my report?
The centre issues the report, signed by its radiologist, and confirms the timing for your scan. Typical times: X-ray and CT within 24 hours; ultrasound, Doppler, MRI and DEXA within 24 to 48 hours; PET-CT 2 to 3 working days. Routine lab test results are typically ready within 24 to 48 hours, and the laboratory confirms the timing.
Can I get a copy of my images and report?
Yes. The centre gives you the report and your images, usually through a secure link or on a CD, and keeps its own copy as UAE health regulations require.
Privacy and your data
What information do you collect?
The details you give us to book: your name, phone number, email address, emirate, the scan or test your doctor has requested and, if you send it, your doctor's referral. We use them to arrange your appointment and share them with the partner centre, or centres, able to perform your test. Please do not send us scan images or test results. Our privacy policy explains how your data is handled.
How do I ask for my data to be deleted?

How do I make a complaint?
Email info@meliohealth-uae.com first. For a complaint about a centre's clinical care, contact the centre and, if needed, the health authority that licenses it; for most centres in Dubai, that is the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
